Small enough to wear comfortably as a pendant, this portrait shows a rather earnest-looking young gentleman in a black coat and black cravat possibly on the threshold of his career.

The portrait is set in the original chased foliate gilt-metal frame that is also glazed on the reverse to show brown silk. Fine condition.
