The Toy Whip

Circa 1840

Naively painted , this charming portrait shows a young boy in a blue dress, frilly pantaloons and square-toed shoes standing in a landscape background and brandishing a toy whip.

Watercolour on card, with minor blemishes, set in the original period faux rosewood frame with a lovely paint effect finish.
