This touching sentiment runs in a ribbon format around this delightful token of affection intended to be gifted to a favourite sister. The design features houses by a river with an arched bridge, trees and birds all executed in watercolour with chopped hair.

Dating to the late 18th or early 19th century, the piece is set in a gold bracelet-style frame with an empty unglazed aperture reverse that would have originally held hair, and a later brooch clasp. Apart from light dust under the glass, the piece is all in good original condition.
