Room at the Stable

Late 19th Century

£580

This finely painted portrait of a sleek chestnut brown horse standing in a stable would have been painted as a special commission to be treasured by the thoroughbred’s proud owner. It is indistinctly signed in the straw bottom left and is presented with convex glass in a decorative gilt metal frame. The reverse has a framer’s label from Harris & Son of Plymouth.
