The officer in this well-painted portrait has been traditionally named as General White. With a steady gaze, he is shown wearing his military red coat with navy blue facings, gold braid and shoulder epaulettes. In fine condition, the portrait is set in a gilt metal frame, the reverse glazed to show neatly plaited brown hair.
