Set within a feigned oval, this half-length pastel portrait shows a slender boy in a brown jacket and matching waistcoat worn over a white shirt with a wide frill-edged shirt. He is named on an inscription to the backing board as “John Warren my grand father”. The portrait is set in the original gilt cavetto frame.
