Embroidered Lace

Shown in part profile, this young Regency lady wears an elegant empire-line dress of grey lace that is beautifully embroidered with trailing flowers and foliage. A white fill-in protects her modesty and is offset with a chuncky pearl necklace. Her fashionably cropped hair is curled to frame her face and decorated with a ribbon bandeau of pink roses to compliment the flowers on her dress. Sadly her name and details have been lost to history.

The portrait is presented in a gold frame that is glazed on the reverse to show neatly plaited brown hair.
