The Golden Hat

This interesting antique Georgian era ring features a painted silhouette of a gentleman wearing a wide-brimmed hat set within a pink border. It is created using the verre églomisé technique with gold leaf applied to the reverse of the glass.

The setting has a cut steel surround and decorative yellow metal shoulders with shell motifs. There appears to be some gum marks on the gold leaf; the covering crystal is much scratched and would benefit from being replaced.
