Looped Hair

It was early on in John Miers’s career that he began to advertise his ability to reduce profiles to a small size and this slimline pendant is a perfect example of his mastery in this area. It features a profile of a stylish lady with her long curls doubled back in a loop and secured on her forehead with a ribbon bow. The portrait is signed Miers under the bust-line.

The gold pendant setting is glazed reverse to show brown plaited hair. Under magnification there is light dust visible on the profile though this is not apparent to the naked eye.
