Love Token

This teeny circular locket showing a gentleman in a bound pigtail wig and frilled chemise would have been worn by the sitter’s wife or sweetheart. Painted on ivory without gold embellishment, it is signed Miers under the bust-line and is set in a locket with a seed pearl surround and hanger with brown hair under bevelled glass on the reverse.
