Regency Ladies

Circa 1805

Sold

Although unlabelled, these charming period portraits probably show two sisters and as such deserve to remain together as a pair. They also make an attractive display together.

Both ladies are dressed in the height of Regency fashion in high-waisted dresses. One has added a coral beaded necklace and drawn her brown hair up into an Apollo knot. The other has braided strands of her hair and drawn them back into a knot and has draped a striped wrap over her shoulders.

Watercolour on card, the portraits are housed in pressed brass oval frames. Both portraits have inevitable age browning but are otherwise in good condition.
