Prancing Horse

This pleasing pen, ink and watercolour study shows a prancing horse wearing a saddle cloth sprigged with red flowers, the bridle heightened with gold and touches of red.

The portrait is within a watercolour wash border and is set in a maple veneer frame with a gilt slip. The frame is a bit cobbled together with imperfections and small losses so is far from perfect though in keeping with the style of painting!
