Pearl Drops

This delicately painted half-length portrait shows a young Georgian lady set against a lightly clouded blue sky and wearing a white cross-over dress with a pale pink sash on her waist and with matching pink ribbon on her shoulder and a deep bandeau in her powdered curls. Her only jewellery is a bulbous pair of pearl drop earrings.

Perhaps a little faded but nonetheless beautiful, the portrait is otherwise in fine condition and is presented in a fine gold frame enclosed on the reverse and with a fausse-montre hanger.
