Little Criol

Signed with the initials A.M.O. and dated 1878, this small watercolour depicts Little Criol, a timber-framed house located in Shadoxhurst in Kent. The house still stands and is listed as a late mediaeval hall-house with a hipped tiled roof, 17th century chimney stack and casement windows.

Watercolour on paper laid on card and presented in a handsome deeply cushioned period rosewood frame with a gilt slip.
