Lambert Family

Circa 1790

Sold

This grey-haired officer from the Napoleonic era is traditionally understood to be from the Lambert family of Woodmansterne. Wearing a red coat with yellow facings and silver buttons and a white waistcoat, he has a single silver bullion epaulette.

The miniature is housed in the original gold frame that is glazed on the reverse to reveal a lock of grey hair tied with gold thread. Excellent condition.
