Family in Profile

Circa 1835

Sold

This well-finished silhouette group shows three children: the oldest boy looking self-important with his peaked cap and toy whip; the middle child holding his/her straw bonnet; and the youngest girl, her hair in pretty ringlets, holding her favourite doll.

The profiles are cut out, gilded and laid on card. They are in excellent bright and clean condition and are housed in a handsome bird’s eye maple veneer frame with a gilt slip and old bubbled glass.
